About the event

Come discover Mindfulness- Based Cognitive therapy in our MBCT Workshop, with Craig Pereira. This free workshop is intended to give you a sense of what the therapy course will be like - it is group therapy.

Craig Pereira is a Psychotherapist and Wellbeing consultant. He has trained under Zindel Siegel, founder of Mindfulness- Based Cognitive therapy in Canada and is listed under Oxford University’s, Oxford Mindfulness as a globally trained MBCT therapist. He is the founder of  MindfulFlow, which was created to provide evidenced-based interventions in Mindfulness and Mental Health.

Mindfullness-based cognitive therapy is an evidenced-based psychotherapy effective in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety and other mood disorders. Mindfulness is a non-judgmental way of paying attention to the present moment. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is designed to bring awareness to the habitual negative thinking that leads to depressive and anxious spirals. Combined, MBCT interrupts how we habitually react to situations, so we can choose to respond in more skillful ways.

Research has found that people using MBCT saw their Depression & Anxiety improve nearly as much as people who were taking antidepressants.
