Peer Support - Chai Pe Charcha

Because we are all united by daily struggles!

Community Centre

Service Description

A warm, open space to pause, reflect, and be heard. “Chai Pe Charcha” is a topical peer support group that brings people together to share their thoughts, emotions, stories, and everyday experiences without the pressure of fixing anything or being ‘okay.’ There’s no eligibility criteria here just people coming together in community, reminding each other that we’re not alone. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, curious, hopeful, or just in need of company, there’s a place for you in this circle. Bring your chai (or coffee, or water), and show up just as you are. Each session is guided by a psychologist and centers around a chosen theme relevant to everyday emotional life. Topics range from uncertainty, loneliness, gratitude, success, habits and self-care among others. The facilitator introduces the topic with personal or reflective prompts, followed by a free-flowing group discussion. Participants are welcome to speak, type, or just listen. The focus is on shared connection, not solutions. As with all peer meet spaces, we begin with ground rules, maintain confidentiality, and encourage mindful participation. Sessions start and end on time, and participants are encouraged to join 5 minutes early. Entry closes 10 minutes after the start time to preserve group flow. We close each meet with a grounding activity like breathwork or reflection to help transition back gently. These sessions are not a substitute for therapy, but we can help with resources if you’re seeking additional support.
