About the event

This World Mental Health Day we at Agatsu Foundation are planning on having a 'Therapy Fair.' This event brings together mental health professionals to answer people's questions about therapy and what they can expect through the process of therapy. There will be a different stall for each form of therapy, where participants can come and ask their questions with the aim to reduce stigma of therapy and promote the most appropriate information to people seeking therapy. On this day, Agatsu will also launch their new initiative; Guides.

Therapy Discovery Day!

Take out a Sunday to prioritize your mental wellbeing!

The Therapy Fair is an event where you can learn what therapy is and how it works. You don’t need to know anything about therapy before coming. This is a space where you can ask questions, talk to trained professionals, and explore different kinds of therapy in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Who is this for?

·       Anyone who is curious about therapy.

·       People who are thinking about starting therapy but don’t know where to begin.

·       Friends or family members who want to support someone going to therapy.

·       Anyone who wants to understand how therapy can help.

What will happen at the event?

There will be different therapy stations, each showing a type of therapy. A trained mental health professional will be at each stall. You can walk around, read simple information, and talk to the professionals to understand:

·       What is this therapy about

·       What usually happens during a session

·       How it might helpful to someone

Why is this being held:

·       To help you find the right fit: There are many types of therapy. Some might feel more comfortable or useful to you than others. This fair helps you explore what suits you best.

·       To support caregivers and friends: If you’re helping someone with mental health needs, this fair can help you understand what they might be going through.

·       To show that there’s no one “right” way to get help: Therapy can look very different depending on the person and the method. That’s normal, and this fair helps you see those differences clearly.

The Therapy Discovery Day will also mark the launch of Agatsu’s new mental health initiative, Guides. The Agatsu Guides are trained professionals who support people by helping them find their way through health and mental health systems. They are not therapists, so they do not provide therapy. Instead, they give guidance, information, and referrals to services related to mental health, and social support. Guides explain the different care options available, how health and mental health systems work, and what referral pathways exist in Mumbai.

This fair is not for therapy sessions, it’s simply a space to learn. You can come, listen, ask, and leave with a better understanding of how therapy works and what might feel right for you or someone you care about.
