About the event
This community-focused session is aimed at breaking down the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, which was recently signed into law.
The session will help participants understand the key clauses of the bill, what has changed, and the potential implications for trans communities in India. Alongside legal understanding, the space is designed to support collective reflection and processing. Suraj Sanap, an advocate based in Mumbai, will moderate the session. The intent is to create a space that is both informative and supportive—one that holds room for questions, discussion, and shared understanding.
This session is open to members of the queer and trans community, as well as allies, students, young people, practitioners, community workers, and anyone interested in understanding the bill and its implications. No prior legal knowledge is required to participate.
