About the event
Making Zines with Zinedabaad Collective "Little Things" By Anjini
We’re halfway through the year, and this workshop is a space to pause, take stock, and give thanks for the little things that got us here. Through zine-making, we’ll reflect on small moments and quiet joys that carried us this far. It’s also a moment to look gently ahead: what are we hoping for and what are we moving toward?
Zinedabaad Collective is a zine-making collective, run by Riya Behl and Devashree Somani.
They make zines, organise workshops and curate pop-up zine libraries, at the intersection of participatory arts, research and education. They believe in the spirit of the zine: a non-commercial, non-professional, small-circulation booklet, usually distributed by zinesters themselves and often traded within the zinester community.
Zines exist outside of mass consumer culture and are circulated by and within communities marginalised by traditional media or dominant social discourses. The word ‘zindabaad’ in Hindustani means ‘long live’ and Zinedabaad is committed to keeping the spirit of social impact alive through their innovative, arts-based, community-building efforts.
