About the event
The core focus is on creating a safe, trauma-informed space for participants to learn how to share parts of their lived experiences through oral and written storytelling. Our guiding principle is "share the scar, not the wound," ensuring we approach these narratives in a way that is healing and empowering, not re-traumatizing.
The session will be a gentle, interactive journey structured in four parts:
1. Building the Sanctuary: Setting a safe container with grounding exercises and group agreements.
2. Finding a Safe Distance: Using gentle techniques to approach personal stories without feeling overwhelmed.
3. Giving the Story a Voice: Focusing on simple, sensory-based methods for oral and written storytelling.
4. The Circle of Witnessing: Closing with a practice of compassionate, non-judgmental listening.
